As far as wildlife is concerned, the Indian peninsula is a continent in itself where the sheer diversity of the wildlife astounds you with more than 350 species of mammals and 1200 avifauna species in the country.
The people want to do only one thing in the cities during the summers – they want to get away from it. They want a cool getaway in India itself where they can have some respite from the scorching heat of the plains.
This archaeological museum was originally located in the Vidyadhar Gardens in Purana Ghat. In July 1949 it was shifted to its present site in Amer, the erstwhile capital of Jaipur State, in the Dil-e-Aram gardens. The history of Rajasthan goes back a long way, and hence there are numerous sites that have produced artefacts dating back to 2nd Century and even farther back. This archaeological museum houses artefacts that have been found in sites like Bairat, Sambhar, Nagar, Pamvar, Bansi, Virat Nagar etc. Also on display are the various epigraphs and sculptures that have been collected from the various sites that were a part of the erstwhile Jaipur State
