On Saturday, June 22, 2024, Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated a special program aimed at expediting the immigration process for pre-verified Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders.

The Fast Track Immigration-Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) represents a visionary initiative of the government, tailored for Indian nationals and OCI cardholders, stated Shah. Drawing parallels to the United States’ Global Entry Program, which facilitates expedited clearance for pre-approved, low-risk travelers at select US airports, officials noted that the FTI-TTP is designed to ensure quicker, smoother, and more secure immigration clearance for international travelers.

Eligible passengers will have access to e-gates, allowing them to bypass regular immigration queues and enjoy a seamless journey. Application for FTI registration requires online submission of biometrics (fingerprint and facial image) and other specified information as per the application form.

The FTI registration remains valid for a maximum of five years or until the passport’s expiry date, whichever occurs first.
